Charlotte County Soldiers of the First World War

In 2017, we need your help in commorating the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge and our County's role in the War!

We are seeking names of soldiers from Charlotte County (New Brunswick) that served in the First World War.

Whether the soldier served in Canada or Overseas; returned home (veteran) or made the ultimate sacrific.

The soldier must have lived in Charlotte County prior to the war or lived the majority of his lifetime in the county.

Also accepting names of Nurses! (Yes our county women also did their part too!)

Sorry, we are not seeking soldier names from other counties or provinces.

Currently, our database has grown to include 1,341 soldiers.... but we believe there are more!

What we need from you? The Soldier's Name and, if possible, the soldier's Regimental Number.

We are also seeking photos of soldiers, documents and copies of letters soldiers sent home.

We do not need original material and all material (photos, documents, letters, etc.) will be digitally scanned and returned to you!

If you live in Charlotte County or New Brunswick, we make home calls! We can visit your home and scan documents without precious keepsakes ever leaving your home!

By the fall of 2018, we hope to make available the list of soldiers, and in the near future, complete publication of a book entitled "Charlotte County Soldiers of the First World War".

Please contact us at county@nbnet.nb.ca or telephone 506-755-6494

You can also send mail to: Heritage Charlotte, 2 Maxwell Road, Canal, New Brunswick, E5C 1K3
