Charlotte County Soldiers of the First World War

With each Rememberance Day, we stop to remember those that served. But with the passage of time, the names of those we remember may disappear. We must not forget the effort put forward by the brave men of our county, Charlotte County.

Total Number of Men: 1,151 (as of 20 June 2010)

This project developed in September 2007 as a "side-bar" interest as part of a family genealogical project (link). As the number of soldier names grew, the project took on a life of its own. The project list the soldier's first & last name, date of birth, service number, unit(s) served, date of attestation/enlistment, if killed in action with date of death, parish of origins as well as additional notes.
